Chicago got lucky as the 10 year anniversary tour of “To Plant A Seed” started off at House Of Blues and brought with it a night of moshes, sing alongs, and emotions.

Kicking off the evening was Dayseeker who helped set the mood for what was to come with their brand of high energy metalcore. Gideon came on next with their mix of hardcore infused metalcore and had the crowd kick it up a notch bringing the first crowdsurfers of the night with them. Gideon helped get the energy going and was it made clear the crowd there knew who they were and what they were bringing to the table.

Chicago favorites The Devil Wears Prada came up next and brought a level of intensity and energy most can’t match. Front man Mike Hranica commands the stage with near nonstop movement and a presence that makes the crowd give 110 percent energy from start to finish. With a set spanning songs from their most recent album but also including some fan favorites from their catalog, fans sang louder than the band at moments during their favorite moments.

Kicking off We Came As Romans’ set was an emotional moment for fans as a video played featuring the band members talking about their “To Plant A Seed” album, which was celebrating its tenth anniversary and being played in full (most songs for the last time ever), as the video closed though it featured WCAR member Kyle Pavone who sadly passed away in 2018. For what could be an emotional start from the moment the band walked on stage and the crowd went crazy raising the energy level it was all smiles from both band and crowd.

Hearing songs from the album that most fans hadn’t heard in years or possibly forever for the first and last time and singing every word back to the band was a special moment that many in attendance won’t certainly forget. The band themselves were firing on all cylinders as well. If you’re a fan of the band at all or the album I’d highly advise seeking out this tour as it will be your last chance ever to experience this section of their catalog.
