Rival Fire Announce New Single ‘Lost’ And Reveal New Line-Up

Rival Fire

Melbourne, Australia: Alternative rock band Rival Fire has announced details of their new single, Lost, out today.

Rival Fire may sound menacing…but at their core, there is a deep, emotional connection to the human spirit. Fronted by vocalist/songwriter Rob Farnham, Rival Fire is a collective of passionate musicians with a dark alt-rock heart, filled with soaring melody. The new single Lost marks an exciting new beginning for the band that has toured with the likes of Dead Letter Circus, Birds Of Tokyo and The Butterfly Effect. Lost is the first taste of what will be a new album from Rival Fire later in 2019.

Lost is about finding your way through loss and regret,” says Rob Farnham. “It’s not written as a relationship song, as we didn’t want it to be too abstract. We use ‘loss’ as an entity that you have a relationship with. Forgiving yourself and dealing with the feeling associated.”

The band, which recently went through a re-building phase, has returned stronger and more determined to re-connect with their fans and take their songs to a wider audience.

We had a line-up change bringing in Kieran Rafferty on drums and Clint Vincent of Dead Letter Circus on guitar,” says Rob Farnham. “Our writing has definitely stepped up as has our live show which we want to be dynamic, entertaining and true to the songs.”

The band will shortly announce live dates which will not only feature new material but many of the fan favourites that has made Rival Fire one of Australia’s most anticipated new alt-rock bands.

Rival Fire, I feel, is somewhat of a new animal,” says Farnham. “We realised the band we didn’t want to be…and what we wanted to become, playing with the likes of Dead Letter Circus, Birds of Tokyo, Shihad, The Butterfly Effect, Superheist and other amazing bands. We wanted to develop our live show and enjoy what we do.”
