ALBUM REVIEW: Blues Arcadia – Carnival of Fools

March 1st 2019 - Only Blues Music

Blues Arcadia - Carnival Of Fools

With so many genres and styles of blues out there, it’s always refreshing to hear a band that fuses & tinkers with all of the options to come up with something refreshingly different.  Brisbane based five-piece band Blues Arcadia have explored, experimented & blended a little bit of soul, rock, funk and blues to come up with the brilliant ‘Carnival of Fools’, a collection of 11-tracks, which will keep you entertained throughout.

Led by the wonderful Al Boyle on vocals, with sublime guitar work from Chris Harvey, it’s an album that takes you through a journey of emotions with stomping tracks like ‘Seven Days a Week’ & ‘Bad Boogaloo’ to the emotive ‘Good Thing’ and fantastic ‘Liars & Thieves’.  Blues Arcadia is completed by Parmis Rose (keys), Jeremy Klysz (bass) and Casper Hall (drums).

The album was recorded back in early 2018 with original drummer & engineer Steve Robin at the Barn Studios, and continued into the summer at Black Box studios with Jeff Lovejoy at the controls.  ‘Carnival of Fools’ will be released Friday March 1st through Only Blues Music.

Blues Arcadia will be heading out for an extensive run of shows through March and April.  Tickets to all shows are available at https://www.bluesarcadia.com/live
