The sold out 2018 Aftershock came with bang once again over 60,000 people over the two day music festival, with Sevendust, Deftones, Slash, Shinedown and many more rock talent. The festival had characters of all kinds attending from girls on stilts to people in masks. No matter who you are you would fit in at Aftershock all are welcome.

Second to open up the day was VIZA; I got a chance to talk with some of the guys of VIZA we talked music, the band and Aftershock. VIZA is a band spread across the grid from the East Coast to the West Coast and everywhere I’m between. I asked about any new music and they said “We are releasing songs from a month to month basis. We are currently promoting our 2 EPs”, this was VIZA’s second time performing at the Aftershock festival.

With a happy day came a tribute to the late Vinnie Paul who was scheduled to perform for Aftershock before his unexpected passing before hand. Featuring members from Korn,Godsmack,Deftones, Sevendust Kyng,GWAR, and Zach Myers from Shinedown and who ever wanted to pay tribute to Paul.

After the wonderful Vinnie Paul Tribute came Sevendust starting off with fan favorites and slowly moving into songs off their new album “All I see is war”

5:55pm Shinedown hit the stage starting off with their classics “Sound Of Madness” also playing some of their new songs “Get Up” and “Devil” off of their current album “Attention Attention”. Brent Smith (Lead singer) and Zach Myers (Lead Guitarist) joined the crowd for “45” and their rendition of “Simple Man”.

As Shinedown ended their tour mates Godsmack closed the day one also got with Sacramento natives Deftones. Godsmack did old fan favorites along with songs like “Bulletproof” and “When Legends Rise” off their current album “When Legends Rise”.

As day two begins fans were lined up down the street ready to rock! Opening up the day LAW. The big bands everyone was waiting for was Seether, Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Incubus, Alice In Chains, and ending the weekend System Of A Down.
