Hard Rock/Metal Band… A Killer’s Confession from Cleveland, Ohio…led by vocalist Waylon Reavis crushed it at Dingbatz in Clifton on Thursday, December 14th. Current members also include Jon Dale (drums), Matt Trumpy  (guitar), JP Cross (bass).  Other bands on the bill that night were Awake at Last, You Are a Toy and One Time Without.

History: The band recently formed in 2016 and consists of former Mushroomhead co-vocalist  Waylon Reavis, who appeared on the albums Savior Sorrow (2006), Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children (2010), and The Righteous The Butterfly (2014). He also appeared on TENAFLY VIPER, which also featured former Chimaira bassist Jim LaMarca.

In 2016, the band won an award for Breakout Band Of The Year-  Stone Chrome Radio Listener Choice Award (Wikipedia).  The band just released their debut album “Unbroken” in April of  2017. In December of 2017, A Killer’s Confession toured and performed at several venues all over the US. While attending the show at Dingbatz, I noticed that there was a mixture of adults and kids that came out to support the band, despite the snow. This venue has a seating area around the bar where you can order delicious food from Dingos Den across the street. They have a variety of chicken wings, french fries and pizza. Dingbatz also has a stage in the other room where the bands can perform. Even though, it’s a standing room only venue the audience seemed to be having an amazing time. From the moment the band walked onto the stage the fans cheered in excitement. In between songs, the lead singer kept the audience entertained by his sense of humor in telling jokes. Looking around, I noticed people laughing which meant everyone was enjoying the show!

The last song of the night was “Angel on the Outside” which is off their new single. This song really stood out to me because of the powerful lyrics and catchy tune. It’s not as heavy as the other songs and is easy to sing along to. Out of all the songs from the setlist, this one was my favorite. You can tell the band really put their heart and soul into this song. It’s their first time releasing music independently and for a new band I find them extremely talented. The lyrics are about fighting a battle of some kind and trying to stay strong which I find is very powerful and uplifting. You can find more of their songs on Google, itunes, Amazon and Spotify.
