LAMB OF GOD
RESOLUTION
Roadrunner Records, Jan 2012

By Shane Pinnegar

This monstrous beast bursts forth with ‘Straight For The Sun’, almost a death metal take on Floyd’s ‘Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun’, before a fiery drum breakdown segues us into the molten modern thrash of ‘Desolation’, angry and insistent guitars stabbing like blasts from a furnace.

LOG have forged their distinctively insurgent sound in the fire of all that came before them, combining elements of traditional, thrash, death metal and more, and “Resolution” may be their best, most complete, album yet.

Uncompromising and relentless, the guitars and drums pummel the listener to a pulp, whilst the songs always remain melodic enough to drill into your brain, delivering the urgency and anger of these 14 songs straight to your core.

Miss Lamb Of God at Soundwave Festival this year at your own peril – these guys may just be the new flag bearers of metal.
