Concert Review

25th July-2009 RENO, NEVADA

My final weekend in the USA was probably the highlight of my holiday. I spent the weekend in Reno, watching two of my favourite bands, Heart and Journey.
Heart opened the proceedings with ‘Barracuda’, and continued to play both old and new songs.

Ann Wilson’s powerful voice was amazing, and when she sang ‘Alone’ the crowd were mesmerized!! Nancy also provided a great guitar solo and the crowd sang along to ‘These dreams’, as well as other classic songs.
Journey appeared next, to provide over ninety minutes of pure entertainment, with their best known songs. They began with ‘Separate Ways’ and continued with a high energy show, until the encore, ‘Lovin’, Touching, Squeezing’.

Arnel Pineda’s vocals were excellent, and his uncontainable energy had the crowd singing and clapping to most songs, he was truly captivating! The ballads, ‘Faithfully’
And ‘Open Arms’ brought tears to the eyes!

Neil Schon was brilliant, and Dean Castronovo showed his vocal abilities with two songs, ‘Keep on Runnin’ and ‘Mother, Father’.

The Reno Events Centre, was a great venue, my one criticism being the queue’s for the bathrooms and the merchandise stalls were way too long!! Even so, the concert was one of the best I have been to in a long time, and I had a very memorable evening.

Cheers,
