DIMMU BORGIR to release new DVD "Forces Of The Northern Night" in April
· Andrew Schizodeluxe on January 12 2017 21:23:34

Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, DIMMU BORGIR, finally emerge from the depths of darkness, to mark 2017 as the year of their monumental return.
On April 14th, they will finally release their highly-anticipated DVD »Forces Of The Northern Night«, containing two of the band's live rituals: Their legendary show in Oslo, showing DIMMU BORGIR on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir, as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air 2012 with almost 100 musicians on stage. Both concerts present a spectacular sound scenario of raging black metal in front of an epic orchestral landscape and the band's unique visuals.

This authentic combination of the beauty and the beast has long seemed like a natural evolution for fans, but much time, arrangements and commitment were necessary to put this gigantic production into reality and fill the stage with 90 minutes of mindblowing sets per night. The shows guide the fans through classics from the band's discography - from the majestic finisher 'Mourning Palace' to the stomping manifesto 'Puritania' and the haunting 'Gateways'... Norway's DIMMU BORGIR know how to leave nothing behind but pure ashes.

"For us, this is the pinnacle of our career so far. As a band, we've always used a lot of symphonic elements in our music. But we haven't been able to use a real orchestra live. We've had to use samples, synthesisers and so on, so this was a huge, awesome experience for us!", states front man Shagrath.

On April 14th, both concert plus a bonus documentary feature will be available in many different formats that will soon be revealed.

And beware... this is not the only gem that the year 2017 holds for DIMMU BORGIR.

“HOW TO DEVELOP CREATIVITY AND EXCEL AS A SUCCESSFUL INDEPENDENT SONGWRITER IN A CHANGING INDUSTRY”

During the presentation Devin will discuss...
Why music is the result of the process and NOT the process itself.

Why you shouldn’t fight yourself – rather surrender to the creative process.

Devin Townsend was discovered by Steve Vai as a 19 year old and sang on Steve's acclaimed "Sex & Religion" album. He then went on to found seminal metal band "Strapping Young Lad" as well as his namesake act "The Devin Townsend Project". FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE: Announce Australian/NZ Tour June, 2017
· Andrew Schizodeluxe on January 12 2017 11:08:37

DIRECT TOURING PRESENTS
FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE
Australian & New Zealand Tour June, 2017

The Italian masters of dark musical extremity, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, will make their long awaited return to Australia & New Zealand for a headline tour this June!

Since forming a decade ago in 2007, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE have grabbed the metal world by the throat and not let go. Releasing four albums, relentlessly touring the globe, and amassing a legion of loyal followers. Their most recent album KING (2016) is being hailed as one of the essential metal albums of the last decade.

Combining the extremity of Death and Black Metal with bombastic, powerful and challenging orchestral arrangements FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE take the listener on a dark journey of epic proportions. Drawing on diverse musical inspirations from film score composers such as John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Howard Shore through to the melodic death metal of Carcass and At The Gates and the savagery of Morbid Angel, the band have crafted a sound that is powerful, impressive, and unique. There are no limitations on Fleshgod Apocalypse’s creative ambitions as they continue to blur the lines between classical refinement and metallic intensity.

Frontman/guitarist Tommaso Riccardi comments, “The new album [King] is much more than the sum of its parts...I think we reached the perfect balance between all the aspects of our music. I really believe that we simply wrote our best songs so far. Every riff is mind-blowing and the way we managed the arrangements and song structures is great; I really feel that everything is in the right place.

Meticulous song writers, all five band members challenge themselves with each release. It took a full nine months to complete songwriting and arrangements for King and the results are there to be heard. Sonic perfection in devastating form.
The Fleshgod Apocalypse catalogue is a synthesis of music and mentality improving and refining on what came before. Each new release cut from the cloth of the old, only better, more mature and more exciting.
Conceptually, King focuses on the stories of a collapsing world, an old world slowing coming to an end, Riccardi informs. “The king himself is, in a way, the only positive character of the whole story. He represents justice, integrity, and wisdom that are slowly being corroded by ignorance and mediocrity spreading everywhere. We thought this could be a perfect way to describe our indignation about the unrestrainable downfall of our own society in an era that looks more like the Middle Ages rather than the 21st Century. Obviously, in this story there is a positive message: that the king could be inside every one of us. It’s up to us to recognize the King and find the courage to stand for what we believe in. We should all hail the king we have inside!

In the live arena FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE are unparalleled. Powerful, immense and grandiose. This is not your typical metal show, it’s an immersion into a fantastical world of symphonic wonderment, total heaviness and intriguing beauty. It quite simply must be witnessed to be believed!

Hail to Fleshgod Apocalypse! Hail to the King!

MEDIA RELEASE: UNIFY 2017 SOLD OUT!
· Andrew Schizodeluxe on January 11 2017 13:48:59

UNIFY 2017 is officially SOLD OUT!

After two massively successful years and now an impressive third sell out in a row, UNIFY will return to Tawin Lower this weekend with its biggest lineup yet that will include headline performances by AlexisonfireViolent Soho and Northlane as part of a 26 band lineup over two huge nights.

"Thanks to the amazing punters who have helped us achieve a third straight sell out. More proof that heavy music is alive and well! See you all in the arena!" - Luke Logemann, UNIFY Festival.

UNIFY has been a smashing success since its inception with UNIFY 2015 famously selling out of its 3000 ticket allocation in just three hours, while its second year also sold out of all 5000 tickets well before the event kicked off. This year, all 2000 Early Bird tickets flew out the door in under 24 hours, without the backing of a lineup announcement. The festival is a uniquely Australian event that takes pride in showcasing our beautiful natural surroundings as well as our incredible musical output and fandom for which our country has become renown.

Once again, UNIFY will be held in the small rural town of Tarwin Lower, situated on their recreation reserve and football field just like the 2015 and 2016 events. Thanks to the support of the local community, the 2017 event is now a two night affair, which means more artists, more amenities and more amazing memories for our artists and punters. We have worked hard to make this event even more fun and comfortable for everyone involved, and can’t thank our previous ticket holders enough for their feedback and continued support.

With the support of the local Tarwin Lower community behind us and the incredible enthusiasm shown by all of amazing artists involved, everything is set for UNIFY to be the perfect start to 2017.

THE MENZINGERS PREMIERE TITLE TRACK 'AFTER THE PARTY' AT STEREOGUM. TOURING AUSTRALIA IN FEBRUARY
· Andrew Schizodeluxe on January 11 2017 13:46:13

The Menzingers have premiered new song After The Party at Stereogum; a song off the band’s new album of the same name out February 3rd.

Listen to After The Party at Stereogum HERE.

After The Party is the follow-up to the Philadelphia-based band’s widely acclaimed Rented World. Produced by Will Yip (Title Fight, Balance & Composure, Pianos Become the Teeth), After The Party taps into The Menzingers’ everyman romanticism to reflect on getting older but not quite growing up. Throughout the album, singer/guitarists Greg Barnett and Tom May, bassist Eric Keen, and drummer Joe Godino offset that deeply nuanced songwriting with anthemic harmonies, furious power chords, and larger-than-life melodies.

MEAT WAVE TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM 'THE INCESSANT' ON FEBRUARY 17, RECORDED WITH STEVE ALBINI
· Andrew Schizodeluxe on January 11 2017 13:32:20

It’s a swelling. A pyramid. A crescendo. It stems from living recklessly. And selfishly. And regrettably. It’s an overwhelming anxiety brought on by the biggest and littlest fucking things, and it’s what MEAT WAVE’s new album, The Incessant, is all about.

Recorded with legendary Chicago engineer Steve Albini, The Incessant is a bracing, emotional punk record that confronts taking responsibility for your actions with dark humour and self-deprecation. It draws major influence from The Breeders, Hot Snakes, and even Fiona Apple as much as Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis, Jeffrey Eugenides’ Middlesex and the poems of Emily Dickinson.

Pre-orders for The Incessant are available HERE

WATCH Run You Out on CLRVYNT

About two years ago, 24-year-old Sutter found himself facing the end of the relationship he had been in since he was 12 years old. Undoubtedly that experience led to the theme of escapism that appears throughout the record, and maybe it’s most apparent on new single Run You Out. Sutter says the track is specifically about exiting a situation in the worst, most destructive way possible.

Formed in 2011 out of the ashes of various Chicago bands, Chris Sutter (guitar, vocals), Joe Gac (bass) and Ryan Wizniak (drums) were no strangers to the thriving underground scene of the city. Just a year later, the trio released their first collection of songs and that’s all it would take to start garnering attention. Their last album, 2015’s Delusion Moon, was a blistering master class in abrasive post-punk, simultaneously referencing Hot Snakes, the disgruntled lyricism of Shellac and a little bit of The Jesus Lizard’s fire-spitting sneer just for good measure.

BLUESFEST SCORES EXCLUSIVE AUSTRALIAN JIMMY BUFFETT AND THE CORAL REEFERS
· Andrew Schizodeluxe on January 11 2017 13:24:42

WASTED AWAY IN BYRON BAY….

BLUESFEST SCORES EXCLUSIVE AUSTRALIAN JIMMY BUFFETT AND THE CORAL REEFERS PERFORMANCE FOR 2017!

STRICTLY EMBARGOED UNTIL: 9AM AEDT Wednesday 11 January 2017

Bluesfest is thrilled to be starting the New Year on a high note by announcing the King of Margaritaville himself, Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefers will be performing exclusively in Australia at Bluesfest in 2017. Could there be a location more perfect for an artist famous for hits such as ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’, ‘Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudesand of course the classic Margaritaville? Bluesfest can’t wait for his fans to enjoy these classics plus many more just outside of idyllic Byron Bay.

For the few that are uninitiated, singer/songwriter/author Jimmy Buffett has become a legend of popular culture. He has recorded over fifty albums, most of which have gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum.  His sold-out concert tours are an annual rite of summer for his legions of fans, affectionately known as Parrotheads, many of whom are professionals by day and who dress in spectacular and outrageous tropical outfits and headwear when Jimmy comes to town. In 2016 the song Margaritaville’ was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for its cultural and historic significance. Only those recordings that have influenced and inspired both music creators and fans for generations are considered for this most special honour. Bluesfest is very happy to be making the dreams of the many Parrotheads around Australia come true this Easter.

Music lovers from across Australia will visit the beautiful Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm over the Easter long weekend (Thursday 13th to Monday 17th of April 2017) for Bluesfest. During the festival they will enjoy 12 hours of music each day on multiple stages, a range of onsite camping options, as well as incredible food and market stalls.

The festival promises more artist announcements in the coming weeks.

Peter Noble OAM, Festival Director of Bluesfest, comments on Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefers joining the Bluesfest 2017 line up:

Hey Parrotheads.....Jimmy Buffett is coming.....to play one totally exclusive show at Bluesfest on April 14....YES, Jimmy is coming all the way to Australia to play one show just for you! Jimmy and The Coral Reefers will be present and presenting his unique "island escapism" style at the epicentre of Australian escapism.....Byron Bay

When Jimmy Buffett isn't sailing on his yacht, or hanging out at his beach shack in the Caribbean, he plays where and when he wants to....and he has chosen Bluesfest this time! Yes there are restaurants and hotels named after his famous song, ‘Margaritaville.’  When Jimmy does decide to go on tour, he is one of the highest grossing artists anywhere.  This is a coup, and Bluesfest is proud to bring him to our stage.

We have so many legends coming this Easter (April 13-17), from Santana to Patti Smith to the Doobie Brothers....we have contemporary artists covered too...The Lumineers, the hit of Bluesfest 2016- St Paul & the Broken Bones and of course Mary J. Blige!

Grammy nominees in Gallant, The Record Company and Rhiannon Giddens, plus the KING OF THE BLUES playing exclusively....Buddy Guy, and so much more...

Bluesfest truly is the place to be this Easter, and tickets have been selling very quickly, so don't wait too long to avoid disappointment, as with this announcement, and those coming up, this could just be our biggest year yet. Thanks for your support
