Vancouver BC - August, 16, 2011: The iconic Paul Rodgers will begin his first tour of Canada in over 14 years on September 8th in Belleville, ON.  It’s the first run of multi city dates across the country for Rodgers since 1997, excluding his two Canadian dates as Queen + Paul Rodgers in 2004.  Playing an exclusive number of shows, just 20-30 each year internationally, definitely keeps the music fresh and exciting.

Rodgers will kick off his swing thru Canada on the morning of September 6th when he performs one of his classic hits on Canada AM =>

The evening will be filled with such radio hits as “All Right Now,” “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Making Love,” “Bad Company,” “Rock & Roll Fantasy,” “Shooting Star,” and more.  The multi-platinum selling singer, songwriter & self-taught instrumentalist has written, recorded and released over 30 albums since 1968 and has sold over 90 million records.  Rodgers formed and led three separate bands to worldwide success: Free, Bad Company & The Firm.  His Solo band includes Howard Leese on guitar, a founding member of Heart, and Canadian musicians Marcus Wolfe on guitar, Rick Fedyk on drums and Todd Ronning on bass, brother of Ex Canuck Cliff Ronning.

“So far this year the band and I have played ten dates in the UK, ten in the US and one in Canada with five possibly six to come.  I love living in Canada I find the people have a quiet humility and strength.  Plus they know how to rock unquestionably.” – Paul Rodgers.

Bachman & Turner, the core of Canadian rock legends Bachman Turner Overdrive will co-headline this Canadian run with Rodgers.  Tickets for all shows are on sale now.

His last solo release “Live in Glasgow” on DVD hit #1 twice in Canada on the Nielsen Soundscan Charts in 2007.  Rodgers most recently charted with Bad Company’s “Live At Wembley” CD & DVD.  The DVD charted at #1 in the UK in late June and remains in the top ten.  Performed at the historic British venue Wembley Arena in London April 2010, high-definition cameras captured the original band performing their greatest hits along with deep album cuts.  Eagle Rock Entertainment released the show simultaneously on DVD, Blu-Ray and CD on June 28th.

Dr. Paul Rodgers, who received an honorary doctorate in 2009, remains passionate about writing and performing music and he has several projects in the works for release in 2012.  For a man who prefers to keep a low profile he has left his indelible mark on music.  Rodgers is married to former Miss Canada Cynthia Kereluk, host and writer of TV's Internationally syndicated “Everyday Workout.”

Over the years Rodgers has recorded/performed with a who’s who of rock including: Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Brian May, David Gilmour, Buddy Guy, Joe Walsh, Slash, Nils Lofgren, Charlie Watts, Bryan Adams, Motown's Sam Moore, The Four Tops and Queen to name a select few.
