Crime and The City Solution: First ever Australian tour, February tour 2013

With their origins spanning back to 1977, whilst based in Sydney, Simon Bonney has led the now legendary group “Crime and the City Solution” through countless line up changes, in many Cities, across multiple Countries.

Through all of this, their reputation as an International musical force as has definitely proceeded them, but it’s only now that time has finally caught up with the band, and made both them, and their vast back catalogue, more relevant than ever!

A year after relocating to Melbourne from Sydney, Simon Bonney ended the group in 1979, with unfortunately no recordings to show for this period. After relocating to London in 1983 Simon re-connected with The Birthday Party, and in 1985, through the advice of Mick Harvey, he resurrected the group with a completely new line up, which has since been highly regarded as the classic line up. The resurrected 1985 line up featured Roland S Howard, Harry Howard, Mick Harvey, and Epic Soundtracks, with Simon fronting the band, respectfully.

Over the course of the next six years Crime and the City Solution made an undisputed mark on the International scene with four classic studio albums. In 1991 the band ended once again.

In 2012, whilst based in Detroit, Simon Bonney resurrected Crime and the City Solution once again.

With a new studio album on it’s way, and a best of collection now released, Crime and the City Solution are now touring the globe presenting their music in the way it was originally intended.

It’s safe to say the new Crime and the City Solution line up is incredible, one of their best ever. Most notable Alexander Hackey of Einstürzende Neubauten is now back in the band on guitar, Jim White of The Dirty Three is on drums, and David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower and Woven Hands is now playing them, along with a cast of other note worthy World class musicians.

In February 2013 Crime and the City Solution will be presenting three select headline shows in Australia, those shows being in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
