U.D.O.
DOMINATOR

Every time I hear Udo Dirkschnieder’s screeching metal voice, I expect to hear the classically influenced guitar riffs and solos of mid period Accept, but thaat’s not really what U.D.O. is about – so I always feel a little let down.

This, like other U.D.O. albums, is a steamtrain full of metal on a collision course with your brain; The riffs are huge in a heads-down-metal kinda way. The vocals are the pure distilled essence of Krautmetal, and the songs are full and loud!

It’s good – and occasionally very good, like on 'Heavy Metal Heaven', 'Stillness Of Time', or the playful bar-room boogie of 'Devil’s Rendezvous'. I still miss those Accept guitars though!
