ROUGH CUTT - ANTHOLOGY
Released November 2008

In my opinion, Paul Shortino (along with Danny Vaughn) has one of the best voices in melodic rock, whether singing with Rough Cutt or his solo material.

I remember buying Rough Cutt’s first album from Way Ahead in Nottingham about the same time as buying Lizzy Borden’s LOVE YOU TO PIECES. Disappointingly they only released two studio albums (Rough Cutt & Wants You).

ANTHOLOGY is split into two parts. Disc one contains studio sessions from 1984 & 1987, including 5 tracks from the debut album, then 7 unreleased demo tracks from 1984. There are also two unreleased tracks from 1987.

Of the unreleased tracks, stand-outs are the rocking TRY A LITTLE HARDER, STREET GANG LIVIN` and BAD BOYS, although none of the tracks would be out of place on either of the two studio albums.

Disc two is a 1985 live show recorded from Syracuse, showing just how good a live band they were. A classy release from a classy band.
