HYTEST

DISHING OUT THE GOOD TIMES

This is pretty good you know. Very vibrant, with a punky hard rock edge. Remniscent of Metallica meeting Husker Du, Kyuss and Black Flag for a beer.

Opening duo "9 Volt" and "Girl In Black" pretty much tell the story of Hytest - this is new rock with an edge, a driving rhythm and cool stoner vibe.

Mad riffing and hair flying, the Wollongong combo have produced a competent full length debut.

If you think it may be for you then the band come highly recommended with rotation on the Triple J Network and none other than Nick Oliveri (ex Queens of the stonage, Kyuss) showing his appreciation by asking the boys to tour as Mondo Generator through Europe mid 2010.

Highpoints for me include those two openers plus the wonderfully manic "Smokeskull".

Great stuff with a ton of promise.
