AC/DC

BACKTRACKS

Disc one of this glorious Accadacca box set is where the excitement for fans really lies. In the mid-70's AC/DC's Australian albums were chopped up and combined for international release and these 'global' versions became the official back catalogue from 2003.

Along the way several songs ('RIP [Rock In Peace]', 'Love Song', 'Crabsody In Blue') were lost and until now have only been available on the Aussie editions of the band's 70's albums. A very early b-side ('Fling Thing'), an unreleased ode to drunkenness ('Carry Me Home') and a song previously only available in the BONFIRE box set ('Cold Hearted Man') make up the Bon Scott rarities, and it's great to have them all remastered and in one place finally.

Brian Johnson's offerings are inevitably less exciting, as is the live material on disc two - but "less exciting" doesn't mean unexciting" - everything here is rocking, tight and sounds great.

Disc three is the next installment of the "Family Jewels" dvd collection, which brings us up to date with video clips and the like, there's a comprehensive and interesting booklet, and if you get the deluxe version of this box set it is packaged in a real working amplifier with all sorts of extra knick knacks!

All in all this is a treasure trove for AC/DC fans old and new and a must have!
