WARRIOR SOUL
Destroy The War Machine

Released 2009

Kory Clarke is back railing against the powers that be in his much-missed fashion, and in “Destroy the War Machine” he has concocted eight fiery, feisty, nasty, dirty slabs of vitriol and anti-establishment spleen-venting drama.

Ever since Warrior Soul’s debut he balanced a predilection for over indulgence in some pretty heavy shit with an idealistic fervour to bring down the powers that be, and once again he balances things very nicely here.

Opener “(Fuck the) Pigs” sets the tone of the downtrodden versus the man, and that theme is taken to an even further radical extreme with ‘The Fourth Reich” and it’s chilling refrain “destroy the war machine and live in peace, destroy the war machine with the truth from nine-eleven”.

Clarke’s never been one to back down from spreading the word of his anti-government beliefs, and I doubt he will care much about the conservatives he will offend with these songs.

Rock madness, drug addiction and a Glaswegian goer (but not a ho-ar!) all rate a dose of attention from Kory, and it’s never less than an entertaining and thought provoking ride.

Best bit: The one-two K.O. punch of vitrioli openers ‘(Fuck The) Pigs’ and ‘The Fourth Reich’
