LORD
RETURN OF THE TYRANT

Lord are taking a six month hiatus at the end of 2010, but they have generously left us something special to remember them by – a fantastic new EP chock full of goodies in “Return Of The Tyrant”.

The track itself is a swashbuckling tale of piracy on the high seas, as epic as anything they’ve done before, and it’s a wonderful traditional metal tune.

As if that wasn’t enough the EP also features a storming cover of the Symphony X trac ‘Of Sins & Shadows’, and a surprisingly faithful take on the Cutting Crew tune ‘(I Just) Died In Your Arms’, featuring Lord bassist and amateur stuntman Andy Dowling’s vocals.

But that’s not all – how about six unplugged tracks from their back catalogue, featuring some great playing from all involved, especially the magical acoustic solos on ‘Eternal Storm’. Best of all, these acoustic renditions show how great Lord’s songwriting and Lord Tim’s amazing voice really are.

Finally there is an orchestral mix and radio edit of ‘Return Of The Tyrant’, making this the best value for money EP you’re likely to find on the shelves this Christmas!
