VEGA
KISS OF LIFE

Ex-Kick vocalist Nick Workman finally gets together with song-writing duo Tom and James Martin (who have written for artists such as House of Lords,  Khymera, Ted Poley and Sunstorm) to produce a nice melodic album that has its moments.

There’s lots and lots for fans of Khymera especially here: title track ‘Kiss Of Life’, ‘One Of A Kind’, the ballad ‘Too Young For Wings’ and ‘Stay With Me’ are all fine songs. To be honest there’s really nothing here that falls behind in the quality stakes at all although sadly there is no real masterpiece either. If you like that catchy adult A.O.R (yes I know – double A) I have no doubt that these guys will be at the very forefront of the genre one day. Definitely a band to watch. Here is song-writing, musicianship, and quality that can’t be faulted.

Best of the bunch? For me it’s the title track but the aforementioned selection are just plain cool songs and opener 'Into The Wild' is a big high tempo opening gambit.  'Staring At The Sun' too is well worth a listen; 'Too Young For Wings' is a sweet ballad that set’s off Nick's voice nicely; and 'What It Takes' is cool too.  In reality you’ll be listening end to end to this one.
