When is an EP not an EP? When it contains 9 tracks and weighs in at over three quarters of an hour. FM have certainly been busy since reforming in 2007: releasing the Wildlie EP and the Metropolis album as well as a heavy touring schedule which ahs included two appearances at the Firefest festival and Download.
This EP contains two versions of Bring Back Yesterday from the new album, Start It Up, a track left over from the album sessions and tracks recorded live in Glasgow and Cardiff. There is not a bad track on the EP. All songs prove that Steve Overland’s voice is as good, if not better than ever. Excellent harmonies and ‘Over You’ is an absolute belter of a track.
Every track fits perfectly her, from the beautiful acoustic version of ‘That Girl’ to the rockier live tracks. This is a lesson on how it should be done. Not only a bargain, but one of the best releases of the year.
