God Review
GOD
[self released]
Release Date: August 22nd 2016

This 10 track multi-layered progressive instrumental metal album challenges listeners & viewers to consider what we as humans think about when we read or hear the words God, Evolution, Betrayal, Death, Life, Creation, Denial, Hate, Love and more. Each song title utilizes this concept in a unique video for each song to ask questions rather than force opinions, ideas, concepts on to viewers. The album will be released in 2 week intervals starting on August 22 through December 25, 2016. Releasing 1 song every 2 weeks with a video to coincide with each release, we review all 10 tracks here.

Now first things first upon first listening to this progressive instrumental multi layered band called GOD your average listener will jump automatically onto the Meshuggah bandwagon but that is where the similarities stop. Clocking in at just over the 43 minute mark, these guys don't hold anything back in terms of musicianship. Flawless playing!

The track "Salvation" takes on a really epic tone reminiscent of Animals As Leaders, the track "Sin" has a really menacing sound with slow tempo groove, head crushing in fact! This band get full marks in terms of creativity, just when you think you have it figured out the album takes a sharp twist and the most exciting part here is you are left wanting more. This will also appeal to Fear Factory fans as there are some industrial grooves interwoven in this package.

Another note is here the band have taken - pardon the pun - a biblical theme here in terms of the track titles "Life", "Creation" and "Jesus Christ" just to name a few which just adds to the overall mystique of the album. My advice to you with this album is to take your time with all 10 track on offer here, absorb and let this one grow. A solid effort here and well worth purchasing, on the live front this would be truly breath taking.
