Melodic AOR that is both sure-footed and sweetly melodic is what Radioactive deliver on new oddly-titled album ‘F4UR’ (it’s the fourth outing for the Tommy Denander-led project). From the sheer sugar of ‘Summer Rains’ and the jazzier, more progressive ‘Back to the Game’ there’s a distinct west-Coast vibe shot through the 13 tracks here.

And in truth  it’s damned good, feel-good music  to sit back and sip on a cocktail to, which is just what you can imagine doing whilst listening to ‘Beautiful Lies’ – a soaring refrain that evokes summer days through its sweet sounds.
In truth we do venture into rockier territory at times with tracks like ‘The Piper’ (featuring Bobby Kimball of Toto on vocals) upping the tempo just  little before falling back into mid-tempo security, it’s one of the  standouts and cushioned up against the softer ‘Alibis’ it’s a nice shift in tempo.

Elsewhere ‘Give Me Your Love’ featuring James Christian on vocals and ‘Heart Comes Alive’ impress. If there is one thing we hoped for it was the big anthem but that would be to miss the point and that’s not what Radioactive is about. If you like it light, this is one for you.
