FRONTIERS ROCK FESTIVAL - THE COMPILATION

FRONTIERS RECORDS

MAY 1 2014

To commemorate the first (hopefully of many) Frontiers Festival the label has put together a sampler of their current roster from the bands playing over those days in May. As compilations go it’s a great album in its own right and really gets to the heart of the best non-established-names on the Frontiers roster.

I guess if you are going to start anywhere then the wonderful Melodic Rock of recent signing LRS is as good a place as any, featuring as it does the comeback of Tommy La Verdi the voice behind 21 Guns. ‘Livin’ For A Dream’ is one of the best from their debut and a classic in the vein of bands like Journey at their peak.

The rest of the album is almost as strong, with a great first look at new signing ‘Adrenaline Rush’ featuring Tave Wanning – a great Swedish Melodic Hard Rock band to look out for on the basis of the track here – ‘Change’.

Tracks from the likes of ‘Moonland’ – another female fronted outfit; ‘Three Lions’ whose debut we reviewed this week; and Hardline’s ‘Fever Dreams’ are great. However it’s the contributions of bands like Crazy Lixx – who deliver a stunning new track ‘Sympathy’; W.E.T. who add the classic ‘Victorious’; Eclipse’s ‘Into the Fire’ and Issa’s acoustic version of ‘Invincible’ that really make you sit up and take notice.

Grab a copy of this and you can’t possibly be disappointed, and in all likelihood you’ll be grabbing a stack of new Frontiers releases in the very near future.
