TWIN HAUS - WAXEN MYRIAD (EP)

SELF - RELEASED

OUT NOW - 2014

Deliciously dark and awash with sounds born from early eighties British Indie, via Radiohead and psychedelia: Twin Haus is an interesting band. Whilst the rather jaunty meander of opener the instrumental ‘Otoh’ is rather uninformative ‘Salvador Dali’ has the lilting guitars and fuzzy haze of something more substantial than just your average shoe-gaze band.

What ‘Waxen Myriad’ offers is a series of cool soundscapes, some haunting, some quirky, moving from the relatively tranquil to the agitated and rockier.

It’s the lush ‘Night Locust’ though that sounds most focussed and dare we say glossy, and even though in isolation it’s a strong song it seems somewhat at-odds with the rather more direct fare here. Nice, and a great first effort after two suggestive singles.
