SOIL WHOLE ALBUM REVIEW 2014

SOIL - WHOLE

BULLET PROOF AU

FEBRUARY 21 2014

Formed in 1997 Soil has been no stranger to or shores and is back this year for Soundwave in a few weeks just in time to debut tracks from the latest opus ‘Whole’.

The great news for fans is that this is going to be huge! Opening with ‘Loaded Gun’ the album couldn’t be better, if you’ve grown to love the sound over the years then this sixth studio album is right up there with their best, and back to the sound we know and love.

After a series of line-up changes reuniting original vocalist Ryan McCombs teams up with fellow original members Tim King (Bass) and Adam Zadel (Guitar) and the guys are really back in business. You can check out last month’s interview with Tim King where he talks about ‘Whole’ and the Soundwave tour HERE

Back to the album which sees SOiL returning to its classic sound that both fans and critics alike have come to admire,  “The Hate Song” carries on where “Loaded Gun” left off and tracks like “Way Gone” and “Shine On” (dedicated to the SOiL fans for standing by the band throughout the years) show a band with renewed purpose.

It’s hard after just a few spins to pick favourites but those already mentioned along with the relentless “Amalgamation” and “My Time” (which also gets a remix as a final track) all hit the mark. SOiL is back and as good as they ever were!

If you love your Metal with bags of groove this is for you!
