SILVERTUNG DEVILS IN THE DETAIL ALBUM REVIEW 2013

SILVERTUNG - DEVIL'S IN THE DETAILS

SELF-RELEASED

OCTOBER 22 2013

Silvertung are the purveyors of some damn fine riff-based high-octane rock and roll and on ‘Devil’s in the Details’ they open up all cylinders.

These Maryland-based rockers have been around a while now and before they started picking up an impressive list of support slots they cut their teeth on covers  like so many do and it seems to have served them good stead as they have managed to create a sound that evoke many band names, but copies none.

The new album  ‘Devil's In The Details’ doesn’t sound like that difficult second album, coming after impressive debut ‘The Pawn’ rather it’s a collection of mature songs, still blue-collar for sure, but more refined.
There are some great songs here, from the lead single ‘Coming Alive’ which seems to capture the real non-nonsense spirit of the band to the ballad ‘Used to Fly’ which charts the bands journey to where they are today, and shows they do have that softer side.

Our favourites are headed by the real standout ‘Never Too Late’, which has it all and builds beautifully. But there’s also ‘I Don’t Care’ which is a great rocker, the relentless ‘Justify’; and the powerful ‘Burden’ which bursts into life and has a frankly unforgettable chorus, to name but a few. The epic ‘Hello’ is also a very cool way to end proceedings.

This is a fine release by a band you will want to hear especially if you love bands like Shinedown and Godsmack
.
