ROCK ON THE RANGE 2014 LIVE REVIEW

ROCK ON THE RANGE 2014

DAY ONE REVIEW AND GALLERY

DAYS TWO AND THREE COMING SOON!

COLUMBUS, OH USA

MAY 16-18 2014

The eighth annual Rock on the Range festival sold out in advance for the second year in a row, with over 100,000 fans in attendance. ROTR is the largest music festival in America consisting of 3 stages, a comedy tent, and 60 bands. Fans come from all over the world for three days of nonstop rock'n roll.

Seether has always been a crowd pleaser at ROTR. Fans are always eager to sing along favourably!

I have been attending Rock on the Range for six years now and people over hear conversations between my friends and I and they always ask, “What exactly is ROTR?”

Well, here it is:

“My Official Definition of Rock on the Range”

First of all, ROTR is NOT just ANOTHER music festival!

It's a meeting of the masses brought together by the universal language that is music.
Rock'n Roll to be more specific.

Fans, respectfully and ceremoniously known as "rangers", are a gathering of devout fans that talk about ROTR year round, reminiscing about people they met, bands they saw and wondering what the next year will bring.

Rock on the Range is a place to reunite with friends from all over the world, as well as making new ones.

It's about getting to the venue early to claim your usual parking spot for tail-gating with other rangers that share your food, drink, and memories from previous years at ROTR.

Or pulling up to your usual parking spot to see that your neighbours, usually from another state or country, have reserved your spot in anticipation of your arrival, using lawn chairs, coolers, etc. as well as chasing others away that try to claim your prime location.

Most rangers have a mutual meeting place inside the venue just in case you become separated from the rest of your group.

It's about dancing with strangers and singing at the top of your lungs without giving a shit about what others might think.

It's a place to just let go!

Rock on the Range is about music, friendship and creating memories that last a lifetime. So, the next time you look at the band lineup and think that it’s just not for you. YOU are missing out on so much more!!!!!!!!!

Phil Anselmo with Down rocking out for the fans!! Phil was determined to make sure the entire crowd was engaged for the duration of their time on stage.

Corey Glover from Living colour interacting with the fans sending them into a frenzy. These guys just keep getting better with age.

Zakk Wylde with Black Label Society put on a great show for fans. Check out the band’s website for current tour dates.

Lacuna Coil is one of my personal favs. Their passion shines through their music and they give 100% everytime they hit the stage. The band is currently on tour promoting their latest release “Broken Crown Halo”. The band included their single, “Rise and Die from that release This is a band that never disappoints. Pictued above: Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil.

These ladies drew crowds from all over the venue. The band emits extremely high levels of energy, and make the crowd lose their minds every time they play live. Heidi Sheppard, from the Butcher Babies.

Killswitch Engage destroy the main stage early on in the day to obliging fans’
