Reviewing Swedish Rock Bands is a passion of mine, having heard Lover Under Cover’s last album ‘Set the Night on Fire,’ I thought they would never be able to live up to that expectation again, proving that ‘difficult second’ album is not an option for these guys, how wrong was I?? This new album is released on 24th January and already it is scoring my 2014 top 10 album of the year.

The Swedish melodic rock band return just over a year since their last album and if you are into tasty, easy listening melodic rock, then this is the one to look out for.‘Into the Night’ album is a great mix of melodic rock with massive tame chorus’s and perfect harmonies that will please audiences of all generations.

Every Track on this fantastic album is a possible hit, the album kicks off with the up-tempo rocking tune of ‘A Fight’ which is a good opener for this album with a catchy chorus line and solid guitar work. ‘Into the Shadows’ follows with continuous fabulous sounds of guitars and vocals. ‘Miracle’ a favourite of mine, true energy that hit and provide unbelievable power. You can feel that spirit of rock generated from the 80’s, just gotta love the catchy chorus.

Cover Version of Martika’s ‘Toy Soldiers’ is sung with passion, Mikael is a perfect vocalist for this song, he operates well with his hoarse, raspy tone, which adds to the enthusiasm of the song, he really shines and sings with authority. ‘Crushing Stones’ and ‘Life is easy’ two songs that will get you in the mood for summer,
typical feel good cruising songs! The tempo picks up for ‘Playboy No:7’ the strong guitar riffs and pounding drums pelt out to this tune at their best.

‘The Game is On’ and ‘Fantasy Man’ some great lyrics and harmonies which invites you to sing along to, again, two catchy tunes that will stay in your head forever. ‘Closer to the Truth’ has that ‘Eurovision’ feel to it, not a favourite of mine, but still a great easy listening, feel good song.

‘No Place like Home’ closes this awesome album with a lot of heart and passion shown in this song. It starts off in a slow moody rock anthem and then up beats to a great chorus. All in all, with great guitar and bass sounds, screaming keyboards, pounding drums and high energy rock vocals that will get your heart pounding, this album is solid and definitely has potential to go far!
