KILL RITUAL THE EYES OF MEDUSE ALBUM REVIEW 2014

KILL RITUAL - THE EYES OF MEDUSA

GOLDEN CORE RECORDS / XYZ MUSIC

APRIL 4 2014

We loved Kill Ritual’s first album ‘The Serpentine Ritual’ released just in 2012 and this second album builds on that strong start and tops it. If you love old school Thrash meets Heavy Metal then Kill Ritual’s sophomore effort should be enough to have you sit up and take notice.

Peppered with great tracks like the opening title track which had a driving drum kick, and surprisingly melodic refrain, this is an album you will want to immediately hit ‘repeat’ on. With plenty to love here our picks would have to be the “Hair Trigger” which has an almost 80’s Hard Rock vibe and vocal amidst the chugging riffage. Elsewhere it’s the guitar on tracks like “Ride into The Night”; “Writing on the Wall” and “Weight of the World”  that shine through.

This is another solid release by a band with a growing reputation and should really make their presence felt on the scene.
