JOHN TAGLIERI - DAYS LIKE THESE (EP)

SELF-RELEASED

OUT NOW 2014

John Taglieri has been releasing music for years both as a solo artist and with others but this is the first time he has come to our attention and it seems like we’ve been missing out. Here John is slicker than he has been previously with an EP of mellow contemporary uplifting rock in the vein of a host of modern rock artists who have an ear for pop sensibilities.

The title track that opens this EP  is clean passionate fast Rock not a million miles from modern day Bon Jovi, it’s more than enough to get your head nodding in approval, and is certainly the most radio-friendly  track here.  It’s far though from the full story.

’Here For The Taking’ which follows has more of a rock influence and guitars that sound just like Bryan Adams in his pomp; whilst ‘Beautiful Tonight’ takes a poppier route before our favourite track here: ‘Thin Air’ adds another welcome twist, taking things down a notch as a plaintive vocal adds a melancholy air to what is a very strong ballad awash with some great keys and nice female backing vocals that add emphasis.

‘Finish Line’ really cements a strong collection with its haunting keys and gentle melody that rises to a beautiful unassuming crescendo before final track ‘Toasting The Man In The Moon’ rocks out again to close in fine style.

A great melodic rock release for those who like the lighter side, can’t resist a great melody and want to sing along. Irresistible if that ticks those boxes.
