I LOVE RICH - RESPECT THE RICH

SELF-RELEASED

OUT NOW

If like me you hadn’t heard of Chicago’s ‘I Love Rich’ then it’s about time you did. If you love the sort of proto-Rock n Roll that strips it all back and delivers a hard sweaty message via big riffs and Ace Frehley-like vocals then they may well be just your cup of tea.

Add to that sensitively titled tracks like ‘You’re So Hot I’m Gonna Fuck You With the Lights On’ (of which this 8 track EP contains three versions, one clean and one in Spanish) and what you get is more Spinal Tap than Steel Panther.

It’s great fun, party Rock n Roll that isn’t meant to be anything more than good time music. Take a measure of Kiss, another of Frehley, add a bit of Twisted Sister, some New York Dolls attitude and stir with a really old guitar neck.

‘Respect The Rich’ offers a great shot of additive-free Rock n Roll. I Love Rich may not save the world with their music but they may just save your night. Put it on, turn it up and pour that beer. After listening to the likes of ‘We’re Here To Save Rock and Roll’ and ‘Fight the Fire’ if you’ve sunk a few beers by then you should be banging that head in agreement.
