The Swedes have done it again! As a reviewer for The Rockpit webzine, I just couldn’t let this energetic 6 piece band from Sweden slip without a review of their new EP ‘Waiting for Tomorrow.’ Grand Slam are a new sensation on the planet right now and these guys took me by surprise when I heard them for first time and I must say that their debut 3-track EP is awesome.

In terms of music, they have managed to come up with a great sound with both riff strong guitars mixed with melodic keyboards that has given this EP a fantastic sound.

‘Get High’ first song on the EP, captures the audience with its catchy vocals and harmonies which is a great choice for the opener and a great sample of what’s to come. As expected the vocals are powerful and direct and the lead guitar work helps keep it melodic.

‘Don’t Leave’ the second EP track I think is the weakest, but that’s just my opinion. This is a song that took me couple of spins before it hooked me up. The funky track I'm still not quite sold on, but it could grow on me in future months, although the chorus is just as strong and memorable as the other two songs.

‘Waiting for Tomorrow’ the best song on the EP by far and this is why - it has an awesome up-tempo tune with everything you want in a song, great lyrics filled with outstanding melodies with strong keyboards in the background, big drums and the sing-a-long chorus is magic with fantastic background vocals, just try to get this song out of your head!!

In Summary - With only 3 songs on this EP, I would have liked to listen to more work from these guys to give a more precise review. However, all Grand Slam fans and fans of classic style melodic rock should take a listen to this EP, this EP isn’t super heavy and has a mixture of sleazy, catchy, tunes that will bring joy to anyone, these
guys definitely have potential to go far in the future.
