GLASS SKIES EP REVIEW 2014

GLASS SKIES - GLASS SKIES (EP)

SELF-RELEASED

JULY 18 2014

The opening to Glass Skies EP reminds me of the beat of Primal Scream before some really cool guitar kicks in which keeps me nodding then unexpectedly a whispered falsetto vocal that somehow fits perfectly. Opening track ‘To Be True’ could just be the work of genius or a fluke… we listen on and the hip-deep groove, Hammond and wailing guitar of the somewhat psychedelic ‘Spirits’ answers that pondering – Glass Skies is damn good.

When you add to those two openers the quality of psych garage stew of ‘Ghost’ and previous singles the Beatles meets Soundgarden ‘Lemonade’ and the Canned Heat madness of ‘Highway’ and you have a very impressive introduction to a band which seems to be able to juggle beard-scratching hipster cool with some real rock, ancient seventies rock melodies  and a great knack or laying down a killer tune. Definitely a band to watch alt-rockers…
