The Return of EZ Livin'...

It’s 2013 and Bonfire Guitarist Hans Ziller’s EZ Livin’ returns with Accept and ex-Bangalore Choir vocalist David Reece in tow. Founded in 1991, EZ LIVIN’ sold over 20.000 copies of their debut album “After The Fire” in Europe alone before hitting the road – 22 years later they are back. What happened in between? Well as you all probably know after leaving Bonfire for ‘Knock Out’ Hans returned to the band he’s still in today. In a way EZ Livin’ is what might have been had he not re-joined Bonfire.

What we have here is sight tracks of cool melodic rock with at-times a rather bluesy classic rock edge like on ‘Loaded Gun’ a sure fire winner! There’s also a deeper classic rock edge to songs like ‘White Lightning’ that’s almost hinting at mid-tempo Deep Purple.

Throughout the album is the band’s playing that takes centre stage and the production isn’t too shabby either; mixed and mastered as it was by Alessandro Del Vecchio. The highlight for us though is Ziller’s guitar and how well Reece’s voice compliments these songs.

Picking favourites is a tough task here as all eight hit the mark, but the ballad ‘Let’s Fly Away’ and the rather laid back cover of Uriah Heep’s ‘Easy Living’ are pretty hard to beat for a change of pace. All of the Rockers kick ass!

EZ LIVIN‘  are ready to rock the European stages again in April 2014! They’d certainly be a band I’d be looking to put into the diary…
