DEVILS HEAVEN HEAVEN ON EARTH REVIEW 2014

DEVIL'S HEAVEN - HEAVEN ON EARTH

HELLDIVER RECORDS

RELEASED 2014

This is pretty uninspiring Melodic Metal with horrible clichéd lyrics ‘wine me dine me sixty-nine me’? Really?  In the first song? Great music can of course forgive almost any such faux pas, but the truth is that this isn’t that great either. Opening track ‘Welcome II the Show’ which we suspect is really track 13 ‘Wine Me’ has a really intrusive keyboard sound and a guitar solo that feels ‘bolted-on’.

In truth things do at least get more interesting with second track ‘Demirital Action’ which I suspect is really called ‘Welcome II the show’ and mislabelled just like the first track, it’s a driving rocker infused with Prog leanings and much better. First impressions really do count though and a scant bio, mislabelled tracks and an awful opener (which may really be the closer) might mean you get little further.

Hopefully when you download this or purchase it the tracks will be correctly named, but that annoyance aside, (my copy had every track misnamed and not even in order) there’s little that really stands out here ‘Hot Sex' isn’t bad in a throwaway kind of way and then I kind of lost interest when ‘Mean Street City’ turned out to be ‘Touched by an Angel’ a rather stolid epic-style ballad.
