Denmark’s Bite the Bullet might sound like a Heavy Metal band but in reality they primarily look to both 70’s British Rock and Psychedelia along with a healthy dose of the Blues for their primary influences.

Recording the album in just 12 days manages to capture something of the spontaneity of the band and it suits this, their second outing.  With a professed desire to both record the now and make the simple song seem somehow intriguing and  mysterious ‘Wheels’ works so well.

Formed in 2012 in a relatively short space of time the band has played relentlessly and been noticed by many including Motorhead’s Lemmy who picked up a copy of their first album.

But all of that is by the by, musically this album rocks from the low-key opener ‘Desire’ to the haunting Blues-infused closer ‘You Will Be Mine’.  In-between there is plenty to bend your ear, though for us the best are the quirky ‘To The Seaside’; the subdued ‘Road to Redemption’ and the simple psychedelia of ‘What Am I Doing Here’.
If you want something a little ‘out of the way’ or need a fix of something just that little bit different then ‘Bite the Bullet’ is a great place to stop for a while.
