ADRENALINE MOB - MEN OF HONOR

CENTURY MEDIA

FEBRUARY 18 2014

If you know the band then this as you might expect is Hard Rock with a heavy groove and a touch of Metal at its very finest! February 2014 marks the much-anticipated return of Adrenaline Mob after a blistering 2012 debut ‘Omertà’ and the interim covers EP ‘Covertà’.  From the off you know you are onto a winner with ‘The Mob is Back’ introducing new sticksman AJ Pero to the family. It’s a high energy, high tempo stomp that is a great and reassuring reintroduction before ‘Come on Get Up’ with its incessant riff ups the intensity even further.

‘Dearly Departed’ though is the song that really ignites the fire: It’s a song that has the perfect balance between power and melody and positively punches you in the face and embraces you at the same time. It’s exactly what Adrenaline Mob do so well. Just to take the balance down the soulful ballad ‘Behind These Eyes’  follows, it’s the sort of song that bands like Alter Bridge do so well and in the hands of The Mob it sounds so visceral and essential.

‘Let It Go’ another track that stands out has the sort of power early Soundgarden harnessed so effectively and ‘Feel the Adrenaline’ has the sort of pummelling riff that can break down walls. It’s the sort of song you can see becoming the band’s unofficial anthem. Elsewhere it’s all high quality, high class - every damn track: ‘Feel the Adrenaline’ has a ‘Rusty Cage’ intensity and riptide joy; ‘House of Lies’ (apparently about a strip club) is the grooviest track here riding a great bass line; and closing track ‘Fallin’ to Pieces’ shows another side to the band entirely, all acoustic led with some fine laid back guitar and great vocals. It kinda reminds us of Shinedown at their best; it’s a powerful song and an excellent way to leave us hanging.

This is music to lift you up, music to invigorate and music that has that burns bright with the spirit of true rock and roll.
