WAR CHANT

HEAVY METAL THUNDER

We love this one – Metal like it used to be before genres were created and divided and sub-divided. This is Heavy Metal as we used to know it and opens up with two of the most potent songs here – the glorious ‘More Wicked Than Not’ and the riff-heavy ‘Part of the Black’ which should sell you alone.

If you love Metal the way the Dio-fronted Black Sabbath made it, or early Maiden (to a lesser extent) this is solid stuff, and not a bad track in sight! From the slower ‘Saying Goodbye’ through the ballad ‘The Light’ to the up-tempo ‘War Chant’ it’s solid gold Metal worthy of a place in almost any collection.
Our favourites have to be that opening duo, the hard as nails ‘Believe’; the complete wild card – the acoustic blues of ‘Blue’  and the almost sixties psychedelic power meets Soundgarden of ‘It’s a Lie’. Put those components together and you have a band that can produce solid Metal but also one not afraid to step out of that line and produce something different but wonderful too.

It’s great to see that there are bands still out there making records like this. Long live Rock ‘N’ Roll…
