STONE REVIVAL

STONE REVIVAL

2012

Heavy Stoner Bluesy rock from Melbourne: If you take a listen to the last track and single ‘Freezing’ you’ll get a pretty good idea of why you should be checking these guys out!

So if raw and ragged, edgy and organic is your thing then Stone Revival has certainly captured something here. Whilst you won’t be blown away by the production there is enough on this disc to make the guys take a nice big step ahead of the crowd.

Take the first single ‘Freezing’ as a case in point: it’s a song that sums the band up, rough around the edges, ranging and yet with a huge amount of charm in the way a band like say Mother Love Bone used to veer off at times live.

Highlights for us included the statement of intent that kicks off proceedings ‘Slow River’ which has elements of a deconstructed early Pearl Jam about it; the meandering ‘Calexico’ and the brooding ‘In a Simple Song’

Nice! Very nice!
