SEBASTIAN BACH

ABACHALYPSE NOW!

FRONTIERS RECORDS

2013

VALUE FOR YOUR BACH! (WE DIDN'T START THE BAD PUNS)

No matter how hard Seb tries we all know that it’s a certainty that neither he nor the remainder of Skid Row will ever recapture anything like the glory of those first two Skid Row albums. The world has changed so much since then, and whilst those albums remain classics of their kind, here we are again with the law of diminishing returns.

Much as I love this DVD/CD combo from Frontiers I would quite frankly much rather have a vintage Skid Row concert, and whilst this is a must for fans, and very, very good; Bach’s voice being particularly on form with little hint of ‘helping hands’ in the mix; it is what it is. And what it is, is two sets of Seb live on CD: one from Club Nokia in LA and the other from the Hellfest Festival in France.  And three live sets on DVD – the aforementioned two and a further set from the GrasPop Festival (all from 2012).

We all know the old songs and we all know the newer ones that have made the cut (If you don’t the videos to them are included as bonuses) and even though it's all great and Seb sounds on form it's also all strangely familiar territory.

As value for money though this package excels, and we agree with Seb’s description ‘Kickass’ will do for us too…
