SOMMETHING NEW FOR YOU

Metalcore meets frenetic punk-pop in an unexpected way – you get the growls, the screaming guitar solos and the highly melodic vocals to balance. Hearing ‘Twisted Heart’ for the first time you might even feel you have two songs playing at once, competing for dominance.  Once you get used to it you’ll love it.

To hear a band with so much energy is always a treat, and the Metal riff that opens ‘1122’ runs into dirty then clean vocals, sending your brain into overdrive - is this Metal? Is this punk? Is this the culmination of both with a heavy dose of guitar noodling a la Van Halen? The answer is it really doesn’t matter – it’s just damn good and the element most similar bands miss is the guitar solo – to So Many Ways that is integral to the sound.

Favourites here have to be the guitar threaded ‘Roraima’; the poisonous/sweet contrast of ‘Pen Island’ and the wonderfully named ‘Astral Beast’ which really seems to draw it all together better than anything else here. I for one will be watching out for what happens next.
