SOLID GOLD MELODIC ROCK

Different titles aside, and from what we gather this is also the band that brought us the album ‘Final Warning’ under the name ‘Oxygen’ back in 2012 on Escape Music (again called something else in Japan).  Now that was a fine album and so is this.

If you like your Melodic Rock in the vein of bands like Treat or like they did it in the mid-eighties then this is for you from the first notes of ‘Never Too Late’ to the last of ‘Love Online’ (If you have the Japanese version with bonus track) this is top-notch sing-along Melodic Rock set off beautifully by some fine musicianship and Tony Niva’s solid gold vocals.

Once you dig in there’s a lot to love: the heavy melodies on ‘Perfect Life’ may be a little sweet for some but we loved it; but the sugar-laden simplicity of ‘My First and Only One’ may actually give you cavities. I guess what we’re saying is if you like Sugar-Heavy Melodic Rock then this may be the album written especially for you.

Standouts will obviously depend on your love of sweet things but it’s hard to pick a favourite from such a great collection.
