CHAPTER SEVEN

2013

A LITTLE LIGHTER FARE

A little light for the Rockpit this, but it landed on the desk at a particularly vulnerable pre-Christmas moment. Leith does a nice line in catchy pop strummers on this his 7th solo album since we are told he won Australian Idol (of course never having watched that we have to take the press-release’s word for that).

Now independent and as such not part of that ‘big bad corporate machine’ I must admit this isn’t my usual cup of tea but my mother loves it. I’ll say one thing for Leith he does have a great voice and when you hear songs like ‘I Can Stop You Crying’ you can almost forgive him anything.

If singer-songwriter low-key pop-folkish-light rock is your thing then this might be worth giving a spin.
