WHITE LINEN NEATLY PRESSED MELODIC ROCK

Ahhh, Melodic Power Metal that starts out sounding like vintage Europe! There’s a sound so clean that emanates from the speakers when you crank up ‘Distant Horizon’ that at first you’re unsure where this band would consider themselves sitting in the ever-increasing cascade of genres, with the almost Queen-like intensity of the backing vocals it’s a fast-paced track that is smooth and silky clean in every aspect.

This is an album with the feel of fresh-pressed white linen, it’s immaculate, almost compulsive-obsessively so! The keys soar and the backing vocals are (and sorry to harp on this) very Queen, you honestly feel that you can hear every nuance and note. The flow is so immaculate when you hear a slightly dirty effect on the solo in ‘Star’ you almost feel shocked!

The only thing I found myself searching for here really was a change of pace as the relentlessness really only alternates between fast and medium-fast. I would have loved to have heard them take it down for a ballad.

If you love your melody turned up to 11 and you want to hear every syllable of the vocal and every note from the guitar this could be your favourite ‘Immaculate High-Melodic High-Pomp’ record.
