BLUES FROM SWEDEN

No Possession Blues have picked up a number of accolades in their native Sweden clouding the Jury’s Choice and People’s Choice at the Scandinavian Blues Contest, but having no idea about the health of blues in Scandinavia the question is are they any good?

The answer is yes, if you like your blues tight, rather than really loose and dirty then this is something you should enjoy. More than a little reminiscent of early Status Quo, there’s feel, there’s touch and certainly skill. But if they lack anything on record it might just be a little passion.

Check out tracks like ‘Final Nail in the Coffin’ which is great boogie laden blues or the more intense boogie of “Oil Pit Shuffle’. In short is B’n’B (Blues and Boogie) is your thing then you’ll love this. It’s not the heart-wrenching blues of some, this is a blues built to let your hair down to; blues to make you smile and possibly even kick off your shoes!

Our favourite though just might be the fuzzed up blues of ‘Raising Hell which comes across nice and Hendrixy…
