FULL TILT LIVE

2013

LIVE WITHOUT THE BRAKES

This double live album is quick to proclaim Muggs as the ugliest band in the world (perhaps they were at the back of the queue when they were giving out stage introductions) what it doesn’t tell you is that they know how to lay down a mighty fine groove.

Inhabiting the territory somewhere between Jam bands and Garage bands, and seemingly having tried on the shoes of everyone from MC5 to Sabbath; essentially Muggs is a mighty fine Blues Rock band, possibly one of the best I’ve heard in recent years.

If you love to immerse yourself in some great blues-laden riffs and soaring solos and want to let your hair down these guys are the real deal. Thrown on your denims, let down your hair and groove along to tracks like ‘Take What I Want’; ‘Born Ugly’ and the more traditional fare of ‘Leanin’ Blues’. One of the best things about listening to this live album from Muggs is that it is very much their natural environment, and they sound so damn comfortable you can close the eyes and imagine being out there. Music like this is meant to be enjoyed: go tell your friends about them.

If ‘Full Tilt’ is a faithful document of their live show you simply have to get to know these guys. I know a lot of times you hear the ‘great undiscovered band’ label, but this time it’s for real: these guys rock.
