great homegrown talent

A bright young talent emerges from Melbourne’s inner East bay area with an EP studded with special guests from the like of the Foo Fighters…. Sound like a PR dream? Well it’s actually also rather good.

An EP these days seems to be the way to go for most emerging musicians, it gives you a taste of an artist and if it does the job right leaves you wanting more. This debut from Hamish Anderson does just that, though if truth be told there’s nothing quite as good on here as opener ‘Howl’ which has a wild bluesy backbone, smothered in guitar.  It’s the path hope Hamish will travel. As a contrast the delicate acoustic ‘Winter’ is also worth a listen, though we feel Hamish sounds better with the meat still on the bone.
