CHILLED OUT AMBIENT POP-JAZZ ANYONE?

When I first heard the synth laden opening track ‘The Sacred Hill’ I though that I’d been accidentally sent one of those relaxation/meditation tapes that are so popular with ladies that wear purple and talk about unicorns. The soft white funk of ‘Nothing Can Stop You’ that followed didn’t lighten my mood at all. I felt I was being forcefully relocated to the early eighties when too many recreational drugs and too much time on rather talented musicians hands turned promise to self-indulgence.

This is essentially a chilled out pop album, ambient and jazz infused electronica. It’s very light and airy and as a result as background music it might do the job in certain situations but its not rock and so why I’m reviewing it is still a mystery.
