CLASSY AOR

Well at least they didn’t call themselves ‘Chase Me’ and to be honest the dodgy name is about the only complaint you’ll find from me here. Well almost – as this album at its best is extraordinary and it certainly has its peaks, but it does lose its way somewhat in the middle before coming home with a wet sail.

Formed as a collaboration between drummer / songwriter / producer Daniel Flores (The Codex, T.M.O.M.S. and Seventh Wonder) and vocalist Robbie LaBlanc of Blanc Faces who is famed for his AOR chops Find Me has some great songs from a host of regular Frontiers records writers as well as great production by Flores.

Indeed the first two tracks ‘Road to Nowhere’ and ‘Another World’ make you think that you’ve stumbled upon another Frontiers masterpiece following in the footsteps of bands like Journey and Survivor.

After that sadly the quality seems to fall away and it’s not till we reach the trio of songs that close the album – the wonderful ‘Unbreakable’ , the Hard Rocking title track ‘Wings of Love’ and our favourite the closing track ‘Your Lips’ that you climb that mountain again.

Still in this days and age 5 outstanding tracks and some better than average filler is a good eturn for this type of collaboration and in LaBlanc you have a vocalist that while playing it ‘safe’ in the way some of the best AOR singers do you feel really has the voice to break the mould.

A great album for lovers of AOR. It’s by no means perfect, but at its best as good as anything else out there in the genre.
