DIRTY WHITE NOIZE EIGHTIES STYLE!

I liked Canadian Sleaze Rockers SLIK TOXIC way back in the early nineties just before everyone started shoe-gazing and dressing in the same type of flannels so it’s great to see gravelly-voiced front-man Nicholas Walsh back in the saddle and I’m glad to say it’s a rather Metallic and Sleazy saddle, just the way we like it…

Opening by storming the barricades both ‘Wasteland’ and ‘Overdrive’ show what Famous Underground do so well: Metal-infused sleazy Rock and Roll. It’s the more contemplative, slower ‘Dead Weight’ though that really adds to the depth and texture (and the unplugged version that comes as a bonus is if anything even better).

Its tracks like the video ‘Necropolis’ though and ‘Mommy is a Junkie’ that really catch that darker vibe that wasn’t a part of the Slik Toxic sound.

Our favourites here are ‘Dead Weight’; the catchy as hell ‘Bullet Train’ that’s as fast as it sounds; and the anthemic ‘On Broken Wings’ hell we love ‘Necropolis’ and the ballad ‘Forever and a Day’ too!
If you love eighties Hard Rock this would have been on your playlist back in the day so it should be today!
