TRICIA FREEMAN

EVERYONE CAN SEE

2012

If you want to step away from hard rock for a minute and give something else a chance then the Blues meets Country meets Bluegrass of Tricia Freeman is worth a listen. On her latest release ‘Everyone Can See’ Tricia Freeman moves from traditional blues of songs like “Thought You Was The One” Which recalls artists like  Bonnie Raitt through to ballads with a distinct Country flavour.

The album is well produced and there some lovely instrumentation, particularly the slide guitar and pedal steel of K.K. Martin. Overall though if I was to be critical it’s that the album does rely heavily on ballads though Blind Man Wandering”, “Let It Go”, and “Help Me” are all pretty good.

Really it’s the Country songs that make the album with “Time To Call A Friend” and particularly “You’ll Fall In Love With Me” standing out along with the cover “Mama, He Treats Your Daughter Mean” which sees Freeman at her peak vocally.

If you like Bonnie Raitt and artists like Melissa Etheridge or Sarah McLaughlin you will probably love this and Tricia Freeman certainly has one of those voices that can carry it off.
