Bloody hell! ‘Wake Me Up’ absolutely flies out of the speakers, blowing your hair back with its stream of melodic powerful rock. So what have we got? Great sound - check; great vocals - check; great songs – check.  Looks like we’ve found another winner. By the end of this one though you’ll know that it’s probably more than just another great record. This is all class…

‘Bleed and Scream’ the title track that follows, is if anything an ever better song and already you get that awful feeling where you wonder why the band you are enjoying so much haven’t previously been on your radar that is normally quite well attuned to picking up Sweden’s best.

By track three ‘Ain’t Dead Yet’ I am not only hitting a huge broad grin I am pencilling in album of the year.
“Battlegrounds’ is the sort of powerful anthem that bands like Magnum used to make, and has a strangely Celtic feel to the chorus, it’s a great song.

“A Bitter Taste” has all the mastery that bands like Rainbow at the peak used to hit you with and guitar to die for; but songs like “Falling Down: just drag you along for the ride. It’s gloriously old school, gloriously powerful and dripping with melody you rarely hear these days.

And in truth there’s not a bad song here at all, they peak and they somehow manage to stay there. This is why the album format was created and here is a rare example of how it really ought to be done more often.

Sometimes you get to hear an album that reaffirms why you love hard rock so much and which elicits a real emotional response in you that no other genre of music can. This is just that kind of album and it deserves to be heard.

These guys are genius! This album is amazing!
